From time to time, our clients come to us with questions like "How many home visits do we need to do research on a household product?" or "How many people should go along for a home visit?" or even, "How do we find a decent hotel in a real Beijing neighborhood?"

Capacity Building and Hands-On Training
We can train your staff to come up with good answers to basic field research questions. Training events can be customized and last several days. Of course, for the best in analytic innovation, there is no substitute for sustained graduate education in the human sciences. But if your research staff wants a refresher course or an introduction, let us know.

Workshops for the China Experience
Two years ago, we floated the idea of a seminar on ethnography about China, to be held in Beijing. One of our clients liked the idea, and asked us to design and deliver a multi-day field experience just for them in Beijing and Shanghai. We now offer our China conferences as targeted workshops designed for particular clients who desire an extended, targeted China visit.

Ethnographic Research Support
Occasionally, we provide expert interpretation, translation, or field assistance for teams visiting areas of the world where we work: the USA, Latin America, China, and India. We take seriously the notion that organizations need to take ownership of ethnographic work in service of their own goals. And while we love to be directly engaged in a project from start to finish, we are proud to contribute to the success of research efforts by corporate partners who have already developed a capacity for anthropological field research.
